HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS “NIKKI-FM” music video
Wild piece!
Shot on 35mm at almost every speed except 24fps…matter of fact the bulk was at 150fps. Lots and lots of mag changes, I felt sorry for the loader!
The concept was for a very stylized environment with the lead singer traveling through a myriad of objects and situations: high school graduation, a giant telephone, imaginary city, etc…
Always in chase of the girl…you know the story.
So, shooting on location at a Historic mansion, we had our work cutout as we also had to turn their ballroom into a greenscreen studio.
Plus, having to always light to a high enough stop so that we could suddenly shoot at 150fps at the drop of a command made it interesting.
Arri 435 with Cooke S-4’s.
Blissum was the post house handling the wild CG work. The visuals are very striking.
My biggest question was why the producer insisted we clap a slate at the head of almost every 150fps shot…especially since we were not recording any sound?
