RAZE ANTI-SMOKING “Get Active” TV
spot
Teens in cool graphic environments ‘blowing
away’ cigarettes.
We initially see a blonde teen girl in
a sea of green grass. This was shot outdoors in the rain! Our only lights
were twin backlights from a pair of 1.2K HMI Pars! Just about full pin
in.
The rain would start then stop…very
crappy day.
Makeup kept her dry between takes with
umbrellas. The ‘greenscreen’ shots of her with all the graphics
was actually done without a green screen. We went long lens and the
background of green grass lost all of its detail and became a sea of
green, enough to pull a matte with!
The ‘goth girl’ was shot in a shuttered
high school in Nitro, West Virginia! Electric was still on and we utilized
the inherent green fluorescent ceiling fixtures to help create that
cool green look. We did a simple front light with a wall of Kino’s
and left them straight daylight, shooting at 5600K to allow the green
fluorescents to bleed on through.
Of special note is that we shot NO close-ups
of this girl. The 4K images of the RED has so much detail that the post
house pushed in from the medium shot to the CU with zero loss of detail!
Name any other camera that can do that!?!
Of course, in order to do that, you need
one kick-ass focus puller…Alex, do you know where I can find one?
Red Echo Post did all the beautiful graphic
elements.
Shot on the RED with Cooke optics.
