Commercial Anti-Smoking

This spot was a blast to do!

Wild initial concept from the agency, and a director who told me he wanted a music video look…all of this combined with a killer location made for a fun shoot.

Shot in an abandoned steel mill, which was a real filth pit!

Art department found a huge exhaust fan which they mounted into a wall opening. With the help of a 12K we had a nice “Angel Heart” look!

Lit primarily with HMI’s on uncorrected tungsten stock, the blue became a cold and repulsive element. Plus, ‘hog-tying’ a girl in a prom dress with a tiara is always unique!

Shot off speed and jacked in post. Also some cool 8mm fish-eye transition shots.

I remember having to do quite a clean-down both on me and my camera gear that night in the hotel!
